COVID-19 UPDATE. A STEP CLOSER
The District Committee have discussed the possible return to racing for the remainder of the 2020 season, subject to current CTT guidelines and approval in due course.
Under the current guidance released by CTT, and subject to the government extending the size of group gatherings, we support the running of Club time trials (Type B events) provided that riders are pre-entered ahead of each event. Priority should be given to members of the promoting club, or where events have traditionally been run jointly with another club, to members of that club also. Under the current guidance from CTT, we cannot currently support the running of Open events in the District.
The current decision is based on our desire to preserve the future of time trialling within our district into 2021 and beyond. Given the high population density in many areas of our district, we do not feel the current CTT regulations allow us to run open events whilst maintaining the currently strong relationships we have with local councils, local police forces and local residents.
We will be reviewing this decision following any updates from CTT, and communicate any further changes as they occur.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT A RETURN TO RACING HAS NOT YET BEEN FORMALLY SANCTIONED BY CTT BUT WE ARE EXPECTING FURTHER UPDATES FROM THEM IN THE NEAR FUTURE
